Uzbekistan Railways expanding transport, logistics co-op with sea and dry ports

The Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC (Uzbekistan Railways JSC) is actively working to expand transport and logistics cooperation with sea and dry ports, shipping, as well as transport and logistics companies that have terminals in ports, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek media outlets.

According to the information, currently, cargo owners and clients of Uzbekistan Railways JSC will have the opportunity to directly familiarize themselves with the list of services, price list of ports, shipping and logistics companies in the "Partners" section on the official website of Uzbekistan Railways JSC, which will allow cargo owners to form the most efficient routes for transportation and optimize transportation costs.

In August of this year, following the results of working visits and business negotiations, Memorandums of Understanding and Cooperation were signed between Uzbekistan Railways and the Caspian Sea ports of Aktau and Kuryk (Kazakhstan), as well as with the dry port of Khorgos (Kazakhstan).

Also, in September 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed with the Russian RUSCON logistics company, which is a multimodal operator of transport and logistics services of Delo Group with its own terminals in the seaports of Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg and Nakhodka.

On October 5, 2021, the president of Uzbekistan signed a decree on the accession of Uzbekistan to the Intergovernmental Agreement on "dry ports", which allows simplifying the procedure for transporting goods by sea.

It is noted that at present, on the part of Uzbekistan Railways JSC, work has intensified to expand cooperation with other ports of the Caspian Sea, in connection with which the delegation of the Uzbek railways will take part in the 2nd International Conference "Caspian ports and shipping 2021" in Aktau (Kazakhstan).

Also, Uzbekistan Railways JSC is interested in cooperation with the ports of the Black, Mediterranean, Baltic Seas, as well as the ports of South and Southeast Asia.
