The volume of construction work carried out in Uzbekistan in 2021 amounted to 107.4 trillion soums ($9.9 billion), which is an increase of 21.9 percent compared to 2020 (88.1 trillion soums or $8.1 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During this period, most of the construction work was carried out in Tashkent city (26.4 trillion soums or $2.4 billion), followed by the Tashkent region (8.1 trillion soums or $843.3 million).
Over the past year, the volume of construction work carried out in Uzbekistan has increased 18 times. For comparison, in January 2021 this indicator amounted to 5.8 trillion soums ($542.4 million).
Over the past 10 years, the amount of construction work carried out in the country has increased dramatically. For comparison, the volume of construction work in 2011 amounted to 9.5 trillion soums ($880.3 million), which is 11.3 times less than in 2021.
