The volume of deposits of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 156.1 trillion soums ($14.4 billion), which is an increase of 36.1 percent compared to 2020 (114.7 trillion soums or $10.5 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.
For the corresponding period, state-owned banks’ deposits accounted for 104.2 trillion soums ($9.6 billion), while private banks’ deposits accounted for 51.9 trillion soums ($4.7 billion).
The volume of bank loans in Uzbekistan in 2021 increased by 17.8 percent, in comparison with 2020 (276.9 trillion soums, or $25.5 billion), reaching 326.3 trillion soums ($30.1 billion).
During this period, the loans of state banks amounted to 280 trillion soums ($25.8 billion). At the same time, the loans of private banks reached 46.3 trillion soums ($4.2 billion).
