The number of car purchase and sale transactions in Uzbekistan in 2021 amounted to 691,900, which is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to 2020, Trend reports via the Uzbek Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR).
According to the CERR, the highest annual growth rates of car purchase and sale transactions were observed in Tashkent city (19.9 percent), and Samarkand (30.9 percent), Surkhandarya (29.4 percent), Namangan (27.9 percent) regions of the country.
Sales of new foreign cars increased in 2021. In the first half of the year, 4,700 cars were sold, and in the second half of the year the volume of sales reached 8,900.
Most foreign cars were sold in Tashkent (58.4 percent) city, Fergana (12.4 percent), Tashkent (7 percent) and Samarkand (4.7 percent) regions.
The smallest number of transactions was recorded in Surkhandarya (0.5 percent) and Syrdarya (0.7 percent) regions.
