BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. Uzbekistan will begin to gradually equip the country's social facilities with equipment with an alternative energy source, Trend reports citing "Gazeta.uz".

This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Head of State was instructed to allocate at least 15 percent of the investment program funds for the installation of such devices next year.

Solar panels and water heaters will be installed in 2,107 kindergartens, 1,000 schools, 1,071 family doctor's offices, polyclinics and hospitals, new medical centers, 200 sanatoriums and other recreation facilities by the end of the year.

Furthermore, a number of social facilities from 2023 will be obliged to cover at least 25 percent of the consumption of hot water and outdoor lighting at the expense of alternative energy. We are talking about supermarkets, commercial warehouses, petrol and gas filling stations, airports, railway and bus stations, private educational and medical organizations, commercial banks and their branches.

At the same time, Mirziyoyev said that the time has come to transfer the buildings of ministries, departments and other government agencies to energy supply using alternative energy sources.
