BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. Uzbekneftegaz JSC put into operation a new gas pipeline with a length of 2.7 km and a diameter of 168x6 mm at the Zapadno-Nizhny Surgil field, Trend reports via the company’s statement.

As a result of the commissioning of these gas pipelines, the gas transmission system of the Zapadno-Nizhny Surgil field improved, which led to an increase in the daily production of natural gas by increasing the throughput and reducing the pressure difference in existing pipelines, that is, preventing hydraulic resistance.

The Zapadno-Nizhny Surgil field is located on the territory of the Muynak region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and was put into operation in 2021.

Previously, Uzbekneftegaz JSC put into operation a new gas pipeline with a length of 4.9 km and a diameter of 168 mm at the West Tegirmon field (country’s Bukhara region).

As a result of the installation of the pipeline, it became possible to transport natural gas produced from wells at the field through the Tegimon-Somontepa gas pipeline to the Somontepa primary gas treatment plant.
