BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. The total portfolio of bank loans in Uzbekistan amounted to 345.2 trillion soums ($31.7 billion) from January through May 2022, Trend reports referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
This indicator increased by 15.9 percent compared to the same period last year (297.8 trillion soums or $27.3 billion).
During this period, the loan portfolio of state-owned banks amounted to 292.1 trillion soums ($26.8 billion), and private banks – 53 trillion soums ($4.8 billion).
The volume of non-performing loans (NPL) for the corresponding period amounted to 18.3 trillion soums ($1.7 billion).
This figure increased by 30.5 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (14 trillion soums or $1.3 billion).
