Uzbekistan reveals total assets and liabilities of its banks for 8M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. The total assets of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 532.1 trillion soums ($48 billion) from January through August 2022, which is an increase of 31.8 percent compared to the same period last year (403.8 trillion soums or $36.4 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.

From January through August 2022, state-owned banks’ assets accounted for 424.7 trillion soums ($38.3 billion), while private banks’ assets accounted for 107.4 trillion soums ($9.7 billion).

The total liabilities of banks in Uzbekistan during this period also increased by 34.3 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (339.3 trillion soums, or $30.6 billion), reaching 455.7 trillion soums ($41.1 billion).

During this period, the liabilities of state banks amounted to 364.4 trillion soums ($32.9 billion). At the same time, the liabilities of private banks reached 91.3 trillion soums ($8.2 billion).
