BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 29. United Nations Economic Commission for Europe intends to support Uzbekistan to improve the security of international freight traffic, Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.
On 27 September this year, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan with a delegation of the UNECE headed by Chief of Vehicle Regulatory and Transport Innovation Section, Walter Nissler.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of further strengthening the transit and transport potential of Uzbekistan in the interests of sustainable growth in international trade and strengthening the security of freight and passenger traffic along the country's transport corridors.
The possibilities of attracting foreign investment in projects to develop the sector of small and international business in the field of logistics, digitalization of the transport system, as well as the creation of roadside infrastructure facilities were considered.
