BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 25. Uzbekistan looks to develop its agricultural machinery production with the help of Polish Pronar company, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
The matter was discussed at the meeting between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland Bahrom Babayev with the Chairman of the board of Pronar Sergiusz Martyniuk.
During the talks, the ambassador gave detailed information about the current development of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector, and plans for the development of this industry, including in cooperation with foreign investors.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects of creating a joint investment project for boosting agricultural machinery production in Uzbekistan.
Following the negotiations, Pronar has announced plans to invest in the phased creation of agricultural machinery production in Uzbekistan. In the nearest future, the company's delegation the company will arrive in Tashkent to inspect the production base and select areas and draw up a plan for the launching of the investment project.
In November 2022, Uzbekistan’s UzAuto Motors JSC and Germany’s John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG signed a cooperation agreement on the assembly production and sale of John Deere agricultural machinery in Uzbekistan. The parties came to an agreement to organize the assembly production of 6140B tractors and W430 grain harvesters, bringing the level of localization of these models to 25-30 percent.
Turkiye was also among the countries that helped Uzbekistan's agricultural sector in 2022. In particular, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided agricultural machinery to Uzbekistan as part of a project to expand potato growing in the Central Asia republic.
Uzbekistan received a potato harvester, a potato planting machine, a tillage machine, a fertilizer machine and a fertilizer spraying machine.
