BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. Uzbekistan produced 8.1 billion of eggs from January through December 2022, which is an increase of 4.4 percent, compared to 2021, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to statistics, the largest share of the total volume of egg production falls on Uzbekistan’s Tashkent (17.9 percent), followed by Samarkand (15.7 percent), Andijan (9.2 percent), and Namangan (8.0 percent) regions.
Uzbekistan produced eggs not only for local consumers but also for exports. From January through October 2022, the country exported 5 batches of hatching eggs (1.4 million eggs) to the Russian Chuvash Republic.
In 2022, besides eggs, Russia imported from Uzbekistan carpets worth $4 million, textile products worth $1.2 billion, about 541,900 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $486.7 million, 146,700 TVs, 105,300 refrigerators, 547,400 pairs of footwear, 41,100 washing machines, etc.
Meanwhile, among Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan ranked first in the production of eggs, while Kazakhstan produced 5.4 billion of eggs, Tajikistan – 1 billion, and Kyrgyzstan – 741.9 million in 2022.
