BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. Russia was the main importer of Uzbekistan’s textile products in January 2023, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to the statistics, Russia imported from Uzbekistan textile products worth $102.7 million – an increase of 19.4 percent, compared to the figure for January 2022 ($86 million).
The remaining importers were: Türkiye ($34.2 million), Kyrgyzstan ($24.6 million), China ($23.1 million), Poland and Iran ($5.2 million), Kazakhstan ($4.7 million), Belarus ($4.1 million), Tajikistan and Italy ($2.5 million), Ukraine ($1.6 million), Azerbaijan and Egypt ($1.4 million) and Germany ($1.1 million).
In January 2023, Uzbekistan exported more than 369 types of textile products worth $218.7 million to 35 countries, which is 14.5 percent lower than it was exported in January 2022 ($253.8 million).
The main share of textile exports falls on cotton yarn (45.8 percent) and finished textile products (39.5 percent).
Furthermore, Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $3.1 billion in 2022. From January through December 2022, more than 552 types of Uzbek textile products were exported to 73 countries of the world.
