BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. Uzbekistan’s Xalq Bank has become the leader by number of cards issued, among the local banks, as of February 1, 2023, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
During the reporting period, Xalq Bank has issued more than 7.1 million cards.
The country’s Agrobank ranked second with more than 3.9 million cards, with Ipoteka-bank closing the top 3 with more than 3.1 million cards.
CBU notes that among the 32 banks of Uzbekistan, the smallest number of cards issued into circulation was registered for Uzagroeksportbank – 1,402.

As of February 1, 2023, the number of bank cards issued into circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 34.8 million, which is an increase of 37.2 percent year-on-year. This figure has also increased by 1.9 percent, compared to the beginning of the previous month, as of January 1, 2023 - 34.1 million cards.
At the same time, Uzbekistan’s number of POS terminals amounted to 433,525, as of the beginning of February 2023. Xalq Bank also ranked first in terms of most POS terminals operating across the country - 48,837.
