BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 16. The total number of industrial enterprises operating in Uzbekistan amounted to 77,954 (excluding farms and dehkan farms), of which 77,068 units belong to small business entities, as of March 1, 2023, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to the statistics, industrial enterprises account for 16 percent of the total number of enterprises operating in the country.
As of the beginning of March 2023, Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent has become the leader by the number of operating industrial enterprises – 12,267.
The country’s Fergana region ranked second with about 8,083 enterprises, with the Andijan region closing the top 3 with 7,634 industrial enterprises.
Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee says that among the country’s regions, the smallest number of operating industrial enterprises was registered for the Sirdaryo region – 1,660.

According to the latest data of the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan’s industrial enterprises in January 2023 produced products worth 33.6 trillion soums ($2.9 billion) - an increase of 2.1 percent, compared to the figure for January 2022 (32.9 trillion soums or $2.8 billion).
