BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Uzbekistan has installed solar panels with a total capacity of 1 MW on the territory of the Navoi thermal power plant (TPP), Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.

According to the ministry, the panels will generate an additional 1.8 million kWh of electricity per year. As a result, 400,000 cubic meters of natural gas will be saved.

Uzbekistan’s authorities pay special attention to increasing the deployment of renewable energy sources (RES) countrywide. In this regard, solar panels are being installed on rooftops of various business and industrial facilities.
