BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. China’s Envision will send some 158 turbines for the construction of 2 wind farms in Uzbekistan's Bukhara region, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s Energy Ministry.

The construction of the wind farms is carried out by the Saudi company ACWA Power. The company will put into operation a 500 MW wind farm in the Peshku district, while another will be launched in the Gijduvon district of the Bukhara region.

The farms are expected to be put into operation by the end of 2024.

The wind farms in the Bukhara region, by producing 3.6 billion kWh of electricity per year, will save 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year and prevent 1 million tons of gas emissions.

Furthermore, besides turbines, China will send wind generators to Uzbekistan.

Earlier in January 2023, China sent some 111 turbines for wind farm construction in Zarafshan city of Uzbekistan's Navoiy region, fulfilling the signed agreement between Masdar, a UAE-government-owned renewable energy company, and China’s Goldwind.

The wind power equipment from China was valued at $515,000 and was transferred to Uzbekistan through Kyrgyzstan.
