Uzbekistan’s Tashkent receives first batch of buses ordered from China

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. China has supplied some 233 buses to Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent City, fulfilling an order, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s Transport Ministry.

The ministry says that the Chinese Yutong Bus company delivered to the capital city some 100 buses electric buses and 12-meter compressed gas buses in the amount of 103, while Chinese King Long supplied 30 articulated city buses with a length of 18 meters running on compressed gas.

The order was fulfilled as part of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's "On measures to reform the public transport system" decree dated February 16.

Following the presidential order, Uzbekistan planned to purchase some 1000 buses, in particular, some 200 articulated city buses with a length of 18 meters running on compressed gas from Chinese King Long, while from Yutong Bus Uzbekistan planned to buy 12-meter compressed gas buses in the amount of 500, and 300 electric buses.

Furthermore, recently Uzbekistan purchased some 10 new buses from the Chinese Yutong company. The newly purchased Chinese buses will be used to service passenger transportation on the "Bukhara-Tashkent-Bukhara" route. The new buses will make it possible to transport an additional 550 passengers daily from Bukhara to Tashkent.
