BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The value of all loans issued to individuals by all types of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 105.1 trillion soums ($9.2 billion), as of March 1, 2023, Trend reports via Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

From the total value of loans issued to individuals in the corresponding period, banks with the participation of the state share issued some 74.2 trillion soums ($6.4 billion), while commercial banks – 30.9 trillion soums or $2.7 billion.

CBU notes that among banks with the participation of the state share Uzbekistan’s Ipoteka bank has become the leader in terms of the value of loans issued to individuals – 15.4 trillion soums or $1.3 billion.

As for the private banks, the highest value of loans issued to individuals was recorded in the country’s Kapital bank – 12.004 trillion soums or $1.04 billion.

Furthermore, the total value of all loans issued by all types of Uzbekistan’s banks to both individuals and legal entities amounted to 397.6 trillion soums ($34.7 billion), as of March 1, 2023. From the total share of loans, some 292.4 trillion soums ($25.5 billion) were provided to legal entities, while the remaining money was to individuals.

As of February 1, 2023, the value of loans issued to individuals in Uzbekistan, as of the beginning of February, reached 102.2 trillion soums ($8.9 billion), which is an increase of 1.2 percent compared to the figure for January 1, 2023 (100.9 trillion soums or $8.8 billion).
