BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Industrial enterprises of Uzbekistan manufactured products worth 131 trillion soums ($11.5 billion) from January through March 2023 - an increase of 14.9 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 (114 trillion soums or $10.1 billion), Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
During the first quarter of 2023, Uzbekistan produced trucks (557), vehicle engines (44,195), buses (200), tractors (18), lead batteries (293,300), refrigerators (114,400), etc.
The country’s industrial enterprises also manufactured some 3.5 million tons of paints and polishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers in an aqueous medium, some 2.02 million tons of Portland cement, etc.
Uzbekistan is known as a car-producing country. During the reporting period, Uzbekistan produced some 17,774 Chevrolet Cobalt, 16,855 Chevrolet Damas, 11,142 Daewoo Gentra, 1,843 Chevrolet Nexia T-250, 1,660 Chevrolet Tracker, as well as a new model of Chevrolet Onix – 559.
In 2022, enterprises of Uzbekistan manufactured industrial products worth 551.1 trillion soums ($48.4 billion), which is 5.2 percent more than what was produced during the reporting period in 2021.
