BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China totaled over $2.3 billion from January through March 2023, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

The statistics say that in the reporting the volume of the mutual trade between the countries has increased by 7.4 percent year-on-year (1Q2022 -$2.1 billion).

During the period under review, Uzbekistan’s exports to China amounted to $358.5 million, decreasing by 32 percent, compared to the same period last year - $527.9 million.

At the same time, Uzbekistan imported from China goods and services worth $1.9 billion during the first three months of 2023, which is 20 percent more than $1.6 billion in 1Q2022.

China, in the specified period, mostly imported from China fruit and vegetables worth $30.4 million in the amount of 39,600 tons, textile products worth $83.8 million, etc.

In 2022, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China amounted to $8.9 billion, up by 19.7 percent, compared to 2021 ($7.4 billion). Export from Uzbekistan to China in this period amounted to about $2.5 billion, while imports - were $6.4 billion.

Furthermore, the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan during the first quarter of 2023 as a whole exceeded $14.7 billion – an increase of 11.3 percent, or $1.5 billion compared to the same period last year.
