BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 1. Uzbekistan’s large enterprises produced some 293,300 lead batteries from January through March 2023, Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the statistics, this figure increased by 57.2 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 (186,500 batteries).
In 2022, Uzbekistan produced some 920,100 lead batteries, which is an increase of 21.1 percent year-on-year (759,700 batteries in 2021).
Besides lead batteries, the country’s industrial enterprises produced engines (44,195), trucks (557), buses (200), tractors (18), as well as some 3,500 tons of paints and polishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers in an aqueous medium, some 2.02 million tons of Portland cement, etc.
During the first quarter of 2023, Uzbekistan overall manufactured industrial products worth 131 trillion soums ($11.4 billion), increasing by 14.9 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 (114 trillion soums, or $10 billion).
