TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 15. French Voltalia company, implementing projects in the field of renewable energy sources, opened another office in Uzbekistan in order to implement its new projects, Trend reports.
Voltalia opened its new office in Tashkent on July 13, 2023.
The company plans to attract new people to work on projects already signed with the government of Uzbekistan: a photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 100 MW and one hybrid project with a capacity of 400 MW. The team will be engaged in the development, construction and operation of projects in Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, according to the company, by expanding its presence in Uzbekistan, Voltalia aims to improve the global environment by promoting local development, which implies optimizing the energy balance by producing environmentally friendly and affordable electricity and creating new jobs.
Uzbekistan has set goals for the production of renewable energy, aiming to increase its share of this area in the energy balance to 25 percent by 2026. This entails the addition of 15 GW of new renewable energy capacity.
In addition, according to official forecasts, by the end of 2023, the newly deployed capacities of renewable energy sources put into operation in Uzbekistan will reach 2 GW.
