TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 16. India will invest $10 million in creation of a joint venture for production of medicine in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The news followed a meeting between representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi with a number of leading Indian companies on the implementation of new joint projects.
During the meeting with the head of Precise Chemipharma Pvt Ltd. Pravin Shah, the parties discussed the implementation of a $10 million project for production of medicine.
Within the framework of this project, a new production structure will be established on the Bustonlik-Pharm Free Economic Zone (FEZ) in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region. The start of construction work is planned for the fourth quarter of 2023.
Earlier this year, Uzbekistan and India concluded a package of more than 100 documents worth about $300 million to boost cooperation in the medical field. The signed package of documents allows both countries to expand medical cooperation, in particular, the digitalization of the field, the development of medical tourism, the implementation of joint programs in medical education and folk medicine, as well as the expansion of investment projects in this sector.
