TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 26. The Russian Yandex tech company has invested more than $450,000 in the development of education and security technologies in Uzbekistan over the past year, Trend reports.
As per the company’s representatives, Uzbekistan has become one of the key markets for taxi ordering, delivery, and food services in the Yandex Go and Yandex Eats apps in 2023.
Since the company’s announcement to focus on the development of security technologies in Uzbekistan last year, the service has invested more than $350,000 in this area. The initiatives implemented in the country’s security system during this time include an automatic system for monitoring speed and driving style when fulfilling orders via the Yandex Go platform to help prevent emergencies.
Moreover, Yandex Go has invested $100,000 in the development of an educational environment for schoolchildren to make STEM education more accessible and support the development of the IT industry in Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, Yandex Eats, a service for ordering ready-made food from restaurants and food delivery, began operating in Uzbekistan in March 2023. As of today, the service is available in Uzbekistan’s cities of Tashkent and Samarkand.
