TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 26. Uzbekistan’s Uzbekenergotamir JSC, which is part of Uzbekistan’s Thermal Power Plants JSC, and China National Technical Import and Export Corporation (CNTIC) have reached an agreement to improve Uzbekistan’s electric power capacities, Trend reports.
According to the deal, more capacity would be produced for the people of Uzbekistan's capital, Tashkent, as well as businesses in the city's economic sectors.
Modern and energy-efficient cogeneration facilities will be established in the Mirabad, Mirzo Ulugbek, Shaikhontokhur, Yunusabad, Yashnabad, and Uchtepa districts of the country's capital to address the capital's needs for electric and thermal energy.
Meanwhile, China has provided a $28 million grant for the building of the Charvak wind farm in the Bostanlyk area of Uzbekistan's Tashkent region.
Within the framework of this project, Uzbekhydroenergo JSC Energy Company plans to build four wind power plants with a capacity of 5 MW each with the implementation of new generation technologies at the expense of a Chinese grant.
