TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 23. Uzbekistan's energy production continues to fall, Trend reports.
As per data of Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, gas production in the country amounted to 3.99 billion cubic meters in January, which is 9.4 percent less compared to January 2023.
A total of 60,500 tons of oil was produced in the reporting period, which is 6.3 percent lower year-on-year.
Coal production fell by 13.8 percent over year - to 357,800 tons.
Uzbekistan's enterprises increased gas condensate production by 2.1 percent to 111,700 tons.
The country manufactured 124,600 tons of motor gasoline in January 2024, which is 10.8 percent less year-on-year.
Meanwhile, Condor Energies Inc. (Canada) has signed a contract with Uzbekistan to increase production and overall recovery rates of eight natural gas condensate fields in the country.
Condor, through a local subsidiary, will provide production enhancement services under an agreement with Uzbekneftegaz, a state-owned holding company of Uzbekistan's oil and gas industry.
The Canadian company plans to increase production by adopting modern technology and operating methods, reducing carbon emissions.
