Uzbekistan's logistics infrastructure to receive Chinese boost

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 6. Chinese Shenzhen Neptune Logistics Co. Ltd announced plans to invest about $10-15 million in the construction of a transport and logistics center in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.

This was announced at a meeting between Chairman of the Board of Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC (operator of the container park of the Uzbek Railways) Akmal Kamalov and commercial director of Chinese Shenzhen Neptune Logistics Co. Ltd Nancy Tang on March 5.

Nancy Tang highly appreciated the favorable conditions created by the President of Uzbekistan for Chinese companies.

Both parties discussed matters of cooperation, including joint use of Uztemiryulkonteyner's logistics centers, creation of new logistics centers, development of distribution services and joint use of wagons and containers. In particular, proposals were put forward to create modern warehouses of A+ category in Uzbekistan to provide distribution services.

The sides also discussed matters of cooperation on container transportation from Xi'an, Chengdu and Shenzhen provinces along the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan multimodal route and along the existing transport corridors to Türkiye and European countries.

Shenzhen Neptune Logistics Co. Ltd., founded in 2002, owns its own logistics centers in more than 10 provinces in China, as well as in Europe, Central Asia and Singapore. In 2023, it launched about 100 container trains on China-Europe and China-Central Asia routes from Xi'an, Chengdu and Shenzhen provinces. The company specializes in multimodal transportation and owns 25,000 containers.
