TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 27. China Mining Energy Group plans to extract and process copper ore in the Chust district of Uzbekistan’s Namangan region, Trend reports.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has got acquainted with the project for the extraction and processing of copper ore in cooperation with China.
The cost of the project is estimated at $200 million, the capacity is 30,000 tons of copper per year.
It is expected that 420 job places will be created and budget revenues worth 121 billion soums ($9,584).
Geological exploration work is expected to begin in April.
Company spokeswoman Liu Fang Yuan said that China Mining Energy Group, founded in 2003, has assets worth $32 billion and 40,000 employees, operates in 17 countries, and mines gold, copper and aluminum.
