TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 15. The portfolio of joint projects between Uzbekistan and the UAE has exceeded $4 billion, Trend reports.
According to Uzbek president’s office, this figure was announced during a meeting between President of Uzbekistan and the delegation of the UAE, headed by Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei.
During the meeting, the parties observed that the volume of mutual commercial turnover is increasing and the number of Emirati-invested firms in Uzbekistan has surpassed 300.
The parties addressed establishing and promoting potential investment projects in fields such as green energy, metallurgy, agriculture, transportation, and communications.
Both sides discussed the technical project's preparation and the start of building on the Trans-Afghan railroad.
Meanwhile, according to data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, total commercial turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE totaled $94.9 million from January through February 2024.
The exports amounted to $23.2 million, while imports amounted to $71.7 million during this period.
