Uzbekistan shares volume of transported cargo by rail in 3M2024

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 23. Uzbekistan transported cargo by railroads in the amount of 11.3 million tons from January through March 2024, Trend reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, this indicator has decreased by 25.1 percent compared to the same period last year (15.1 million tons in January–March 2023).

The volume of exported cargo by rail reached 2.9 million tons from January through March 2024, which is more than 3.5 percent year-on-year (2.8 million tons in January–March 2023).

The imports of cargo by rail totaled 5.2 million tons during this period. This indicator shows a 14.7 percent decrease year-on-year (6.1 million tons in January–March 2023).

Uzbekistan's rail transit cargo amounted to 3.2 million tons from January through March 2024. This figure has not changed compared to the same period last year (3.2 million tons in January–March 2023).

Meanwhile, the total volume of cargo transportation in Uzbekistan amounted to 14.7 million tons from January through March 2024.
