TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 21. Chinese Baibuting Group Co. Ltd plans to implement a large green energy project worth $1.8 billion in Uzbekistan's Akhangaran district, Trend reports.
According to the administration of the Tashkent region, the Chinese company intends to build a power plant that will generate energy from the use of solar, wind, and hydroelectric resources.
At the first stage, the sides plan to invest up to $200 million in the energy project, and the final capacity of the green power plant will amount to 2 GW.
Uzbekistan has allocated a land plot of 2,600 hectares for the facility.
The head of Baibuting Group noted that more than 10 companies will be involved in the realization of the project.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, and China have signed an agreement on the development of green energy.
The agreement envisages joint development of green energy in Uzbekistan and the construction of small solar photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 50 MW on buildings and structures of social sphere facilities, government agencies, and other organizations.
