TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 24. Uzbekistan and Oman Investment Agency discussed implementation of joint projects, Trend reports.

The matter was reviewed during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov, and representatives of the delegation headed by the President of the Oman Investment Agency Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi.

During the meeting, the parties discussed supporting private companies and attracting investment, cooperation in the banking and financial sector, creation of new jobs, and improvement of logistics.

Also, during the discussion, the parties talked about current economic processes in Uzbekistan, in particular, macroeconomic stability, ensuring the stability of the inflation rate, current economic reforms, including the processes of transformation and privatization of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and state-owned banks (SOBs), the introduction of market relations and the creation of an environment of free competition in the energy sector, and changes in the use of non-agricultural land.

At the same time, the participants noted the projects implemented within the framework of the public-private partnership (PPP) program, in particular the expansion of PPP projects in the fields of energy, construction of schools, distribution of drinking water, and improvement of pumping stations, and it was emphasized that the Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan, "On measures for the development of public-private partnership in Uzbekistan for 2024-2030," is an important step in the further development of the industry.

Earlier, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Oman signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation.
