( Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini said his country perceives no obstacle in the way of a visit to Iran by French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner .
Speaking to reporters during his weekly press conference here on Sunday, Hosseini reminded that exchange of visits and consultations could help officials of other countries obtain a better understanding of the realities existing in Iran and the region.
Last Sunday Kouchner said, "We must prepare ourselves for the worst" if Iran obtains nuclear weapons, and he specified that could mean a war.
His comments, which caused a diplomatic storm, were faced with harsh global reaction from inside and outside France. French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister Francois Fillon sought to play down Kouchner's comments and distanced themselves from the hawkish stance of their foreign minister.
