A member of the Money and Credit Council said that the body has called for the sovereignty of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
Hossein Rahmani told Mehr News Agency that the CBI should be granted more decision-making capacity in monetary and banking-related issues.
In regard to a decline in the powers of some authorities over the council, he insisted that up to now there have been no discussions regarding the decrease of the president or other executive figures' control over the Money and Credit Council.
