Five convicts, four rapists and one drug trafficker, were hanged in Tehran, the newspaper Iran reported on its website Wednesday.
The four rapists had sexually abused two boys, one mentally disabled woman and a housewife, the report said.
The five were hanged inside a Tehran prison after their death sentences were confirmed by the Supreme Court, DPA reported.
Murder, rape, armed robbery and drug trafficking of quantities in excess of 5 kilograms are among the crimes punishable by death in Iran.
