Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has held talks with his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah in the Iranian capital, Press TV reported.

In the meeting held on Sunday in Tehran, Mottaki and Abdullah discussed ways to improve bilateral relations.

The two also discussed the latest regional and international issues, including developments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Omani foreign minister is in Tehran to take part in the 9th ministerial meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD).

He is also scheduled to attend a four-party summit on transit with officials from Iran, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Tehran will be hosting the 9th ACD conference on November 8 and 9, which will gather officials from 31 Asian countries.

The ACD is a continent-wide forum created in 2002 which aims to promote cooperation among Asian countries and to help integrate other regional cooperation organizations.
