Deputy First Vice-President in Economic Affairs Ali Agha-Mohammadi conferred with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan in Ankara on Tuesday.
Agha-Mohammadi, who is in charge of coordination and follow-up of Iran-Turkey cooperation process, in a meeting with Erdogan discussed regional cooperation in the field of countries of SIIT (Syria, Iran, Iraq, Turkey) and Lebanon and consulted about the latest developments in trade and economic relations, ILNA reported.
Forming SIIT group and joining of Lebanon to the group with the aim of removing existing obstacles in the way of trade and economic cooperation, free circulation of capital and goods, creation of new atmosphere for regional convergence between Muslim countries of the region with many commonalities in religion, history and ethnic groups are among important issues which have been initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in recent rounds of talks between countries of the region.
Agha-Mohammadi also met with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz and Minister in charge of Planning and Programming Judat Yilmaz and head of economic and trade cooperation joint commission of Turkey and Iran.
In the meeting with Yildiz, the two sides discussed cooperation development between the two countries in the field of energy and reviving energy plans between Iran and Turkey.
Taking decision on opening time for border customs in three regions between the two countries in the period of a month, cooperation development in railroad services, discussion on agenda of trade and economic cooperation joint commission meeting were among main subjects of talks between Agha-Mohammadi and Judat Yilmaz.
The Iranian envoy also met with a number of Turkish businessmen interested to work in Iran market.
Agha-Mohammadi who arrived in Ankara on Tuesday morning departed for Tehran on Tuesday evening.
