Iranian passengers can gain access to train tickets in several European, Asian, and American railway networks for the first time inside Iran, Press TV reported.

An Iranian travel agency is offering foreign-bound Iranian passengers with the opportunity to purchase train tickets in Iran before travelling to their target destinations.

Aras Travel Agency has enlisted 26 countries, including Belgium, Slovenia, Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Norway, Canada, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey, and Portugal.

Managing director of Aras Travel Agency, Mostafa Sarvi, said that the main purpose for providing such convenience is that many passengers enjoy sightseeing. "If they travel by air, they will not be able to enjoy the tourist sights," he added.

"Traveling by train provides better opportunities for the passengers to visit the formerly unknown and remote locations. They will also get a chance to become familiar with local cultures and customs of people in those regions," he added.

Travel experts believe that although travelling by air is much faster than using trains, in many cases air travelers are unable to observe tourist sites and can only see cities where their planes land.
