Iran condemned deadly explosion in Egypt which reportedly killed 20 and wounded scores of others on the first day of Christian New Year, ISNA reported.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast denouncing the terrorist attack which came near a church in Alexandria offered condolences to Egyptian people and government.
The bombings came in Saints Church in east Alexandria with eyewitnesses say at least 21 people have been killed and scores wounded in the suicide bombing attack at a Coptic Christian church.
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak denounced the explosion at the Coptic Church calling on Christians and Muslims to unite in confronting such acts of terrorism.
The attack was later claimed by al-Qaeda affiliate of Iraq.
The bombing was among the deadliest on Egyptian Christians in recent memory and the worst terrorist incident in the country since 2006, and followed similar assaults this week in Iraq.
