A senior Iranian lawmaker says strengthening "lasting security and peace" in the world is among major principles of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy, Press TV reported.
"The reinforcement of lasting security and peace in the international scene is among the top priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy," ISNA quoted Head of the Parliament (Majlis) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi as saying at a meeting with Polish Ambassador to Tehran Juliusz J. Gojlo on Tuesday.
Boroujerdi further pointed out that Iran seeks to foster ties with other countries based on a policy of "non-interference."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates the establishment of bilateral relations with friendly countries based on mutual respect and non-interference in the domestic affairs of each other," he added.
The Iranian lawmaker also said that parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Poland could contribute to the development of bilateral ties in various areas.
The Polish ambassador, for his part, said that his respective government and parliament were serious to develop political, economic and trade relations with Iran.
He said that the exchange of visits by political and parliamentary officials of both countries could help develop mutual ties.
