Iran reliable energy partner for Europe

Chairman of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines Mohammad Nahavandian met Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov and said Iran could be a reliable energy partner for Europe.

Mladenov expressed satisfaction with trade level between the two countries in 2010 and said the two nations had great capacity to enhance their trade ties.

He said holding joint economic commissions, exchanging high-level political and economic delegations and holding meetings between the businessmen of the two countries was a good way to foster ties.

Both figures underlined the importance of expanding economic ties.

Elsewhere, chairman of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines met Bulgarian Transport Minister Alexander Tsvetkov.

In this meeting Nahavandian said that Bulgaria is in need of energy and Iran is looking for new routes to increase security in transferring natural gas to Europe, and concluded that the two countries could be a good solution to each others' woes, IRNA reported.

He noted that Iran has access to Central Asia and the Persian Gulf, and Bulgaria is the gateway to Europe and for these reasons the two countries can have good cooperation.

Nahavandian reiterated the two states can expand business in fields such as energy, insurance, banking, ship lines, telecommunications, tourism, petrochemicals and chemical products.

Tsvetkov expressed satisfaction with the meeting and showed interest in Nahavandian's suggestions.
