Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's special envoy Mohammad Reza Shaybani submitted written message of the president to Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, IRNA reported.
Deputy Foreign Minister in Middle East and commonwealth Affairs submitted the message in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday.
Sheikh Hamad, by expressing gratitude for the message, underlined his country's serious intention on developing ties with Iran.
He added that in direction of good political relations, a number of steps have been taken for expansion of economic and trade ties which should be followed up and finalized by senior officials of both countries.
In the meeting, in which Iran's Ambassador to Qatar
Abdullah Sohrabi and Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar Abdullah bin Hamad al-Ateyyeh also were present, Shaybani conveyed warm greetings of President Ahmadinejad to Qatari Emir and underlined Iran's intention for developing ties with Qatar.
The deputy foreign minister also underscored necessity of using mutual relations to help solving a number of regional problems and developing convergence between Islamic countries.
He expressed hope that with continuation of consultations between officials of the two countries, stability can be established in the whole region.
