Seven Iranian soldiers die in mine explosion on Iraqi border

Seven Iranian soldiers died as a result of mine explosion on the Iraqi border yesterday, the Iranian news agency İLNA reported.
The soldiers by mistake entered the territory of Iraqi province of Kurdistan. The territory was mined to prevent the members of the "Pejak" group to move from Iraq to Iran. Pejak is the Iranian wing of the PKK terrorist group. The soldiers have been recently called up for service. They were not informed that the territory was mined.
Although the officials of the Iraqi province of Kurdistan confirm the incident, the Iranian consul in Irbil said that he does not have the information, İLNA news agency reported.
