The governor general of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province, Vahid Jalalzadeh, has described as rumors the news reports claiming that Iranian armed forces have entered the Iraqi Kurdistan to launch attacks against the terrorist group PJAK (the Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan), Mehr news agency reported.
"We do not confirm (the reports)," Jalalzadeh told Press TV on Saturday. His comments were later translated into English.
"The objective of the military operation against the terrorist group PJAK is the protection of the Islamic Republic of Iran's territorial integrity," he said, adding, "The operation against the group will continue until all members are killed."
Jalalzadeh added that enemies have been supporting PJAK and are making efforts to portray Iran's northwestern borders as insecure.
