Iranian Economy Minister Shamsoldin Hosseini has discussed bilateral ties with Turkish Prime Minister Receb Tyyip Erdogan behind close doors.

Iranian Economy Minister Shamsoldin Hosseini has discussed bilateral ties with Turkish Prime Minister Receb Tyyip Erdogan behind close doors, IRNA reported.

The negotiations between Iran and Turkey included commercial trade, developing their transport system, building terminals in the border region and accelerating transit.

Iran and Turkey expect the trade volume to surpass $15 billion in 2011.

The volume of trade in June had increased to $32.97 billion compared to same period last year.

The minister is scheduled to attend the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) emergency summit in Turkey and will brief the conference on the country's aid to famine victims in Somalia.

Members of the OIC have pledged $350 million in aid to fight famine in Somalia at an emergency summit in Istanbul
