The Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani arrived at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport on Thursday, IRNA reported.
The airplane of Qatari emir heading a seven-member delegation comprising Qatari personalities and officials arrived at Mehrabad International Airport late Thursday.
Visiting Sheikh Hamad was welcomed by Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi at the airport.
Qatari emir is visiting Iran to hold talks with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Islamic Republic of Iran ambassador to Qatar, Abdollah Sohrabi told IRNA on Wednesday that the visit of Qatari emir is part of Qatar's "Ramadan diplomacy" which aims to further expand relations between Tehran and Doha.
"Cordial ties between Iran and Qatar have been effective in solving various problems facing the Islamic and regional countries and can serve as a role model for other Islamic states," he said.
