Iran increases electricity export to Iraq

Iran's electricity export to Iraq increased during first six months of current solar year (started on March 20,2011) by increase of power production in Ramin power plant, Pananews reported quoting Energy Ministry's data.

The Energy Ministry reported Ramin power plant in Ahvaz had the highest rate of power production during summer and created opportunity to increase electricity export to Iraq.
Iran's energy consumption reduced 1.68 percent to 65,561 GW hour which lead to increase of production capacities of power plants by 39 percent and 151 megawatt electricity reserve during this time.

By implementation of removal of subsides the rate of power consumption in the country reduced and created good opportunity for export.

Today, Iran exports electricity to Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan and Armenia.
