Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Swiss charge d'affaires Georg Steiner to object to the US terrorist activities against the Islamic Republic, ISNA reported.

The Head of North American Office of Iranian Foreign Ministry in the meeting reiterated, "The Islamic Republic of Iran possesses eliable documents on the support of the US and its proxies for terrorist attempts against Iranian officials, scientists and other targets inside Iran."

"This behavior of the US goes against international commitments of the country and Washington needs to stop meddling in internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran through the mentioned terrorist attempts," the Iranian official added.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry official emphasized on the doubtful nature of the documents and said, "The US must be held accountable in case of any terrorist action against Iranian officials and targets."

Georg Steiner, who was summoned in the absence of the Swiss Ambassador, said he would convey Tehran's message to Washington and relay their response back to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The development came on Friday and after earlier revelations about the US role in anti-Iran terrorist operations by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili displayed two sets of documents proving the US government's ties to known terrorist groups and elements in a rally held to mark the 1979 US Embassy takeover by Iranian students.

Jalili said that based on existing evidence, Tehran reserves the right to take legal action against the US in both Iranian and international courts of law.
