Iran is the top methanol exporter and fourth largest styrene monomer exporter to China, the Iranian deputy oil minister said today.
He did not mention the value or the volume of methanol exports to China.
Over $8 billion worth of petrochemicals and polymer products were exported to different countries in the first seven months of the Iranian calendar year, Abdolhossein Bayat told the Pana news agency.
The country exported some 10.5 million tons of petrochemicals to 60 countries during this period, Bayat told the Mehr news agency.
The exports are 11 percent and 34 percent higher than last year's figures in terms of weight and value, the official added.
Bayat said in July that the value of Iran's petrochemical exports is expected to reach $14 billion by the end of the current Iranian year, according to Press TV.
