Supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) by U.S. to the international markets would not be a threat for Iran's LNG exports as the global demand doubles the total LNG exports, the Iranian LNG Company managing director said.

Speaking to Mehr news agency, Ali Kheirandish said that the U.S. has increased its LNG production capacity, but the world's total LNG exports amount to 625 million tons annually. Th consuming countries demand around 1.2 million tons of LNG per year.

In October 2011, Kheirandish told Pana news agency that Iran plans to export 30 percent of its LNG output to Europe.

China and India will be the two major markets for Iranian LNG in the long term-prospect, he added.
